Consultation has concluded.

Kingston Fire & Rescue is offering free home visits during its "Wake-Up Kingston” campaign. The first 100 homeowners who complete the Wake-Up Kingston application will receive a free home visit from firefighters.

Visiting firefighters will test each smoke and carbon monoxide alarm in your home and answer any questions you may have in regards to fire safety.

About Wake-Up Kingston

This initiative began in 2013 in order to make our city, homes and community a safer place to live. Many fire deaths in the home occur at night while people are sleeping. Working smoke and carbon monoxide alarms offer an early warning that can make the difference between life and death. According to studies published by the National Fire Protection Association, working smoke and carbon alarms reduce the risk of death by nearly half. Smoke and carbon monoxide alarms should be part of your overall home fire safety strategy that also includes having a home fire escape plan.
