38 Cowdy Street – Site closure and Demolition

Community members are being advised of the timelines for the 38 Cowdy Street site closure and demolition. The community will be updated as further details become available.

Lionhearts will be relocating its vocational laundry program from 38 Cowdy Street to 315 Queen Mary Road (QMR) during the week of October 5.

If the QMR site is ready earlier than anticipated, some moving activity may occur at 38 Cowdy during daytime hours on October 3 and 4 as equipment and materials are transferred.

Demolition of the 38 Cowdy Street building and playground is anticipated to begin in the second half of October.

Once Lionhearts has vacated 38 Cowdy, there is a possibility that the vacant building may be used by Kingston Police for training purposes prior to demolition. This arrangement has not yet been confirmed.

Additional information regarding the demolition schedule and whether Kingston Police will be utilizing the space for training purposes prior to demolition will be shared as soon as it becomes available.
