Update on Timeline for demolition

We are providing details now that we have confirmation of the timeline for site closure and demolition of the former school building at 38 Cowdy Street.

Environmental Contracting Services is the contractor for the demolition work. They will get access to the property next Tuesday, Oct. 13. Local police have coordinated with Environmental Services to use the site for training with Kingston Police using the site on Wednesday, Oct. 14 and Ontario Provincial Police performing training on Thursday, Oct. 15.

Environmental Services will begin work at 38 Cowdy Street the week of Oct. 20. It is anticipated that they will install additional fencing to secure the site during construction. Workers will be onsite during the hours of 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.

The City has asked Environmental Services to provide notice of any work outside these hours. Contractors and Police are also aware of the parking zones onsite. The site will continue to be monitored for security purposes.
