In the advancement of our Strategic Plan goal of supporting housing affordability, the City purchased 1056 Palmerston Crescent in Collins-Bayridge District to be used for supportive housing. Supporting Housing programs in Kingston have provided essential services to members of the community and supported them in their individual goals and to achieve independent living.

Near-neighbours (residents living within a 150m radius) of 1056 Palmerston Cresent have joined City of Kingston staff along with Staff from the supportive housing operator, Ryandale, to learn more about the new supportive housing planned in Collins-Bayridge District.
Residents outside the 150-metre radius and did not receive a near-neighbour invitation, were invited to attend a webinar (recording below) on March 4, 2026. During the webinar, operators will introduced the supportive housing program and addressed questions through a moderated Q&A session. We also invite you to stay current and updated through Get Involved Kingston, where information and opportunities for input on integration of the supportive housing project will be shared.

Ryandale, in partnership with the City of Kingston, is inviting near neighbours to take part in guided tours of the 1056 Palmertson Crescent supportive housing home, opening at the end of March.

Thank you for applying to take part in the 1056 Palmerston Crescent Community Liaison Committee (CLC). The mandate of the Community Liaison Committee is to provide a means of connecting near neighbours, business owners, site operators and City support teams to share information, identify concerns and challenges, determine mitigation strategies and support the successful integration of this project into the broader Lakeside District community.

All community members may apply to join the CLC, however please keep in mind that applications will be evaluated on the following criteria:
- Lived or living experience with homelessness
- Proximity to the property, with people who live closest prioritized for participation
- Demonstrated commitment to active and productive participation
- Availability to attend meetings
