Project update: Spring 2026

The majority of the Montreal Street / John Counter Boulevard intersection project was completed early December 2025 with some remaining elements being carried over to Spring 2026. Minor construction work is scheduled to commence mid-April through to end of June 2026 to finish off the remaining work that could not be performed during winter weather including:

• Top soil and grass placement;
• Limited asphalt and concrete repairs;
• Permanent road painting.

There may be some lane reductions at the intersection but no full closures are anticipated. This may cause some slight traffic delays when roadway work is happening.

Kingston Transit continues to operate through the area using temporary bus stops if needed. City staff and the contract team are performing regular traffic management reviews to respond quickly to evolving conditions.
