This would be an amazing route. I work in the woodhaven neighborhood and have to walk all the way from princess Street every morning and every day after work

Bring the route back to Westbrook along with this new route! It was taken away years ago, time to bring it back, now that Westbrook has more than doubled and continues to grow with the new subdivisions being built!

I strong believe that routes in Kingston so need a new full update the City bus should run up Centennial Dr right up past Robertson planted and Holiday Hotel out by the 401 than down to Woodhaven Dr I do think the routes so needed improvement well huge improvement buses should be able to reach the harder places to get to.
Because not everyone drives not to say the least than should also run a route out by the air port like train station and bus station 🙄 plan for the future not the past, updates are technically needed than need the City bus up John counter and over bridge to base. The city and folks need to think deep and hard then go forward 😒 🙄 🤎😃

As so many others have said, there's no good reason not to include Westbrook in this new route. There are a LOT of new homes in Westbrook now, and by fall 2022 there will be many more. We all pay taxes too, Westbrook needs bus service this year!

I strongly urge you to approve this route. I had to drive along Cataraqui Woods Drive on Thursday at 8:45 a.m. to make a delivery, and was so concerned about the traffic congestion of commuters and people dropping their kids off at school, along with families walking to school. I was so nervous about the pedestrians, especially at the corners where sight lines were poor due to huge piles of snow. If even a small fraction of those cars were off the road, it would have been a big improvement.

When I first heard that there’s going to be a new bus route in the west end I thought, “Yes! There’s finally going to be a bus route to the Westbrook area!”. Then I come to look at this plan, and of course, Westbrook isn’t included. Why? Is it too expensive to run busses a little further down Princess St? Seems little silly to me that what’s being posted for public opinion is a proposed bus route only in Woodhaven. Westbrook’s a large neighbourhood now with many families and seniors. It makes the most sense to extend the bus there, at least to Westbrook road and back.

The route should be extended to include Westbrook. The current subdivisions in the Westbrook area need to be serviced by bus routes to support the existing residents and also the new housing that is being built.

This route plan is likely to suffer the same underutilization as the other slow winding routes in the west end. To be effective a route needs to have fast and frequent service, and this is neither. Often its just faster to walk than use the route 15 as the due to the long time to wait for the bus and the long ride time.
The bus should also route away from the low speed residential roads. These are places where kids should be able to play in the street away from heavy vehicles.
To connect woodhaven and westbrook the buses should stay on the arterial roads (Cat Wood Dr, and Princess st.) This would give riders a fast, reliable trip to the transit hub.
The route should also extend to westbook. It will go there eventually, but not serving those residents now will result in more car dependency for the subdivision as there is no other option.
This area does need improved transit connections, but this route is not a good fit. Its a loss of opportunity if this proceeds as better fixes later will be more disruptive and challenging. Perhaps consider re-evaluating the route 15 loop as part of this redesign. Heavy buses are best on the main roads, and served by good walking routes, paths, and sidewalks in the residential areas.

recently moved to Westbrook and surprised that there is no transit available to this community, by extending a route there would help with Council's Climate change goals.
People who move from other municipalities with multi modes of Transport are forced to purchase a car, single car households are forced to become two car households because of the lack of transit.
Also does transit work with mixed use/ Multi family developers to provide a bus stop at the door of the multi housing development

I think that this route should be put into effect as soon as possible. This makes it much easier for everyone living in woodhaven to access bus services.

Bpressling about 2 years ago

Yes, I agree with so many of these comments, please consider adding Westbrook into the loop.

Bria Sherwood about 2 years ago

The route needs to link in with Westbrook. There is continued growth in the area and plenty of people that need to be linked into the bus line. Children and adults are forced to walk along Princess St. (no sidewalks) to catch a bus. For safety's sake loop into the surrounding Westbrook neighbourhood somewhere.

Include Sierra Avenue and through Bayridge take Creekford Road to Westbrook and back on to princess will benefit many more west end residents.

Westbrook Westbrook Westbrook please we really need it !!!

Qazi2001 about 2 years ago

I agree with many comments already made in regards to extend this route to Westbrook, this neighborhood has expanded before Woodhaven, and still expanding with no public transportation, yet we pay city taxes like everyone else.
I'm also aware the master plan usually get review every 5 years, please don't make us wait.
The route you presently propose could go North on Bayridge, then use Creekford going West, then Westbrook road, then back to Princess. This would add approximately 20 minutes to your plans.

Ben. about 2 years ago

Perhaps the route should extend to the intersection at Collins Bay Rd and back to Princess Street, not travelling on Rosanna or Woodhaven Dr. at all.
Our neighbourhood is very walkable with many paths and access the bus route on Cat Woods would be more beneficial to our community. This neighbourhood is filled with narrow streets, many children playing and biking etc. buses every 30 minutes scream for a tragedy to happen. Please consider keeping the route to the “main” streets and not the interior streets with homes placed every 40 feet or less.
Midland to Cat Woods to Princess!

WESTBROOK! I am new to this community and see that there are many seniors that live in the area. Keep them in their own homes longer by offering a bus to the retail shops in the township. Right by Holsgrove School there are new concrete pads that look like bus stops so you are all ready.

G Chomitz about 2 years ago

Great idea, how about including Westbrook... you took away our bus service many years ago and now that it has grown to more than double the size it would be great if you included a route out here, just down the road from Woodhaven and Collins Bay Road. Thanks

MarieMarie about 2 years ago

You need to incorporate Westbrook into this proposal. Very shortsighted if you don’t. We are now a big subdivision and we need public transport.

Tmodh about 2 years ago

cateraquai woods area has had the exact same, poorly optimized bus route for, years and is greatly in need of expanding and change. ANY attempt to alleviate the issue and provide more opportunities to more of this ends growing population, is GREATLY appreciated.
stops along sierra ave. seem logical, and a minimum tweak to this proposed route. as well as all of these proposals to expand into westbrook neighborhood to some degree as the we should be not 9nly thinking of the now and the people who need the service now, but the people who will expand into that area in the coming years and decades.
thank you for your consideration.
