Please create a stop at Holden-Horizon Drive

Please consider adding Westbrook to the route. There are no options for public transportation and a constantly growing population.

Angela Bryan about 2 years ago

This is fantastic. As someone who works doing the on-going house construction, the morning walk from Princess St. to Woodhaven after a snowfall can be tedious. Even in good weathering, having to walk that distance with the equipment I use is taxing.

Please consider adding the Westbrook area to this route! Thank you!

cuthbamy about 2 years ago

WESTBROOK PLEASE. My girlfriend doesn’t drive, it’s a minimum hour walk to anything in town (not to mention along princess with barely road shoulders and poor lighting, which is even worse in the winter ). And where even is the nearest bus stop to Westbrook currently? A 50 minute walk away?

Yatesy30 about 2 years ago

Please consider expanding the route into the expanding Westbrook Community, alternatively provide a dedicated route for Westbrook

@Lillian1 about 2 years ago

Please extend to WESTBROOK subdivision. Lots of new homes, and bus pads are already in place on some streets. Woodfield or Remington would be a couple great options.

MichelleArthurs about 2 years ago

How about extending bus service to Westbrook? The hundreds of new homes that have sprouted up in the area certainly indicates that ridership would make such an extension financially viable. And as has been mentioned by others, it's a 45 minute walk from our neighbourhood to the closest new proposed bus stop on Rosanna Avenue.

Sawdust Boy about 2 years ago

Please consider adding WESTBROOK. The new development had concrete bus stop pads put in on Woodfield Cres and Remington Ave. The area has been built up for some time with no access to public transit.

Please include Holden st

We are excited to have buses in our neighbourhood, especially on Rosanna. I would like to agree with a previous post. Quoted "For those saying Rosanna would be unsafe to have a bus route given all the vehicles parked on both sides of the road this is exactly the opportunity for the city to make it parking on one side only. Very unsafe especially at the bend coming off Princess St" I completely agree, it is very hard to see around all of the parked cars at that bend and the buses will definitely need at least no parking on the northbound side of the street, as proposed. The only thing I might suggest is maybe turning on Bayridge from Cat woods so that there could be a stop at Bayridge and Princess St. but I also understand the proposed route to Midland with stops at other essential services.

Please include Westbrook in this expanded service! There is currently no access to public transit here and it would be a 45 minute walk to the closest new proposed bus stop (Rosanna Ave.). Thank you!

Very happy to see this route finally coming. With no sidewalk along Princess, walking to shops and available busses is not fun.

Could we get this extended to Westbrook, there are people out in Westbrook who would benefit having a bus route out in the Westbrook area.

Brycem01 about 2 years ago

This is great news!!

It would be great to have. I think a route better would include going down Bayridge to Taylor Kidd so those in Woodhaven that go to Bayridge Secondary school can take the bus closer to school. Also, those going to Holy Cross could have a stop on Woodbine as well. Please take this into consideration as my grade 9 son has to walk over 30 minutes on terrible terrain both ways from school. Main issue is not the terrain, he isn’t raised to be a wimp, but it is the numerous times he is close to being hit by negligent speeders crossing Princess or even through the subdivisions at times.

This is a fantastic idea. It would be lovely to have a public transit in Woodhaven. One issue that continues to be a problem though on streets like Holden is the issue of cars going very fast! Due to all of the roundabouts, which are great by the way, now people going to the 401 from Princess drive on Holden to Cat. Woods - Bayridge - Creekford to avoid the lights. Woodhaven is in dire need of traffic calming with Holden being one of the worst streets. A little girl was struck by a car in Woodhaven a few years back, and residents petitioned for traffic calming. Of course nothing was done by the city to make this neighbourhood safe. The city is so callous when it comes to protecting pedestrians and cyclists from dangerous traffic. City staff and counsellors don't seem to have an issue when a child is struck by a vehicle probably because they all drive to work and enjoy our 60 km/h + speedways and they fear fixing the problem might inconvenience them on their morning commutes. Also, traffic calming doesn't always need to include speed bumps!

Looks to me like the proposed new route covers most of the bases and should work well until the area expands perhaps.

This is great news! it has been a long wait!
I agree about bus stop on Holden St. Vs Woodhaven St. due to traffic and congestion on that street.
