A new transit route connecting the Woodhaven neighbourhood and the Cataraqui Centre Transfer Point will begin in September 2022. This new route was identified in the 2017 – 2021 Transit Plan and will connect the residents of Woodhaven to the rest of the City’s transit network.
Proposed Route
Beginning at the Cataraqui Centre the route travels along Midland Ave. and Cataraqui Woods Dr. before looping along Woodhaven Dr. Princess St. and Rosanna Ave. The route then travels out of the subdivision along Cataraqui Woods Dr. and Midland Ave.
It will provide service 7 days per week. Service will be available every 30 minutes, Monday to Saturday, from 6 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and every 60 minutes from 7:30p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Service will be available every 60 minutes from 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. on Sundays and holidays.

I think this is a fairly decent route but there are some things to consider. Rather than going down Woodhaven I would consider Holden, it is generally less crowded and I feel there is a higher population of people that would use the bus system. Woodhaven is a nightmare to drive down especially at the round-about. I find it very difficult to belive that a bus would be able to turn onto Woodhaven from that round-about. Cars are constantly parked on both sides right to the edge of the circle, the bus will more than likely have the stop and sit in the circle for a car to pass through and then thread the needle after a sharp turn. Accident waiting to happen right there.

This route is really needed. We need to get to the centre of town for work. Especially in the winter, we can’t even drive (if we do have a car) to get to work because our side streets are not plowed early in the morning so we need to take a bus on those days. Also, there are no stores close enough to walk to for milk, other necessities etc. It’s a great neighbourhood but very limiting for those without a car

While I generally like the route, I agree with others on two points: Holden St should be serviced from Princess to Cat Woods, and I think you're going to have issues with parked cars on both sides of the streets. It's bad enough navigating in a car in the summer, but a bus during the winter will get caught every single day. I would also take a look at the traffic circles... I've never driven a bus but I would be concerned about how a bus would handle a 270 degree turn through then. Glad to see service finally being addressed in Woodhaven... Thank you!

The route must include old subdivision of Westbrook for now. For woodhaven subdivision bus must pass through Holden St, Woodhaven St, and Rosanna Ave. There are so many peoples who want live in Kingston west of Bayridge Dr but lack of or no public transportation is turning them away. Thank you.

We have waited SO long for public transportation!! Thanks, thanks, thanks especially for the stops on Rosanna. Do not worry about parked cars because the bus will have no problems. Next?? 15 minute intervals!!

Finally!!! This is such welcomed news. I like the proposed route. For those saying Rosanna would be unsafe to have a bus route given all the vehicles parked on both sides of the road this is exactly the opportunity for the city to make it parking on one side only. No need for cars to be parked on both sides. That needs to be addressed regardless. Very unsafe especially at the bend coming off Princess St.

I think that it is wonderful to add public transit to Woodhaven, due to high density housing and proposed high rise, but do have safety concerns due to narrow streets and round-about at Woodhaven Dr and Cataraqui Woods Drive. If the streets were planned wider or there was no parking, then it would be easier for buses and other traffic to pass in both directions. Best of Luck!!!

The route should go up Holden Street! Lots of renters and young families in the neighborhood who need access.

Not necessarily about this route, but you should add a bus that goes within the reddendale neighbourhood like sunny acre rd, bishop..etc. Some of us live so far back, its a long walk just to a bus stop

This would be amazing. I need to walk 15 minutes just to get to the closest bus stop to get to work. If I could grab a bus on Roseanna it would be perfect. PLEASE DO THIS!

It would be nice if the buses near albany drive were revised as well, I'm a cancer patient that has to rely on public transportation, half the time the bus doesn't even show up because it is so late that the driver just skips the rest of the route. I have addressed this to the city and they didn't care to do anything to fix the issue.

We are just a few short days away from moving into our brand new house with 4 kids and this bus route is perfect. This community really should have had this bus running years ago, but thankful it will be this year

North on Midland, West on Cat Woods, South on Holden, West on Princess, North on Woodhaven, West on Evergreen, North on Rosanna, East on Cat woods to Midland. This would catch more pax and service more households with a shorter logical walking pattern.
