Official results of the 2022 Municipal Elections are now available.



The municipal election was held on Monday, October 24, 2022. Eligible voters will be casting ballots for the following:

  • Mayor
  • District Councillor
  • School Board Trustees (Electors are eligible to vote in one school board election depending on the board they support.):
    • Limestone District School Board – 1 trustee for each of 5 areas;
    • Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board – 4 trustees at large;
    • Conseil des écoles publiques de l'Est de l'Ontario (French Public) – 1 trustee at large
    • le Conseil des écoles catholiques du Centre-Est (French Separate) - 1 trustee at large


Who can vote? 

Anyone can vote in the Municipal Elections who, on Voting Day, is:  

  • 18 years of age or older. 

  • A Canadian citizen 

  • Either a resident of the municipality or a property owner or tenant or the spouse of a property owner or tenant in the municipality. 


Confirm you are registered to vote 

The key to an easy voting experience is to ensure your correct information is on the Voters List ahead of time. Your name must be on the voters list to cast your ballot. Verify that you are on the list and update your information if needed, or register to add your name to the Voters List using the Voter Services Portal. You can also use the verified information to find out who your candidates are and where and when you can vote in person.  

All voters registered by Sept. 16 will receive a Voter Information Notice in the mail. Bring this Notice to your voting location to streamline the in-person voting experience. 


Online Voting: Oct. 5 - 24 

Electors will be able to vote online beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2022. Online voting will be available until 8:00 p.m. on Voting Day, Monday, Oct. 24, 2022 provided that you are registered for online voting by 5:00 p.m. on Voting Day. Your Voter Information Notice will contain your unique Voter Identification Number and instructions on how to obtain a PIN number to access online voting.   


Advance Voting: Oct. 18 - 22 

Electors will be able to cast a ballot at one of six voting places in Kingston on the Advance Voting Days, regardless of the district where they reside. 


Voting Day: Oct. 24 

On Voting Day, electors will be able to cast a ballot at one voting place in the district where they reside (Countryside District will have two voting locations) between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. Find your district and where you can vote in the 2022 Municipal Elections.
