The Snow Angels program has concluded for 2019-2020.

Have a Snow Angel? Show your appreciation.

Snow Angels, by nature, are modest, everyday heroes who melt hearts with their kind efforts. They may not seek reward or acknowledgement, but we know they deserve to be appreciated!

To show your appreciation for your Snow Angel, complete these two simple steps:

  1. Share your story – tell us about your Snow Angel and why they deserve to be recognized.
  2. Submit their address – once you’ve shared your story, fill in the form below with your Snow Angel's information. We will mail a thank you letter and toque to your Snow Angel on your behalf! As an extra token of appreciation, your Snow Angel will be entered into a monthly swag bag draw.

In order to protect the privacy of your Snow Angel, please do not include personal information in your story. Any personal information will be removed from your story before being published under a generic account.

    The perfect neighbours?

by alanapants, about 4 years ago

Our neighbours have been clearing the entirety of our shared driveway since we moved in about four years ago, and I can't thank them enough. We never had to ask; they just started doing it. We left a gift card as a Christmas present after our first year here and they seemed... confused? Maybe even a bit startled? It was obvious they weren't really expecting it to be acknowledged, let alone appreciated! And boy do we -- we appreciate them so much!

    Submitted by: Chippindale

This person has been the consumate Snow Angel: Over the last five years she has helped several aged neighbours with issues ranging from snow removal to internet scams. She works tirelessly to help others. She has for months driven our neighbour to garden shops and out in the country.

    Our Dunham Snow Angel

    Submitted by: DDonald

We are retired and my husband is a wheelchair user and I in the past couple of years have an arthritis that limits my time in the cold. We have hired our snow clearing for the past few years but their estimated time for clearing up the snow from our drive is 12-24 hours after a snowfall. Very often our Snow Angels have shoveled us out by mid morning. We really appreciate their efforts in helping us and a few other older neighbors in our area. They also round up our garbage bins after pick up on... Continue reading

    GREAT neighbor

    Submitted by: Richard Viens

I live in an area where many people are retired and are "senior". My neighbor, Jim, has a great snowblower and when there is enough snow to be cleared Jim comes out and take care of at least 10 driveway and all that for free not asking anything in return. I my own case I have very serious legs problems. When there is not anough snow for his snowblower, Jim comes and clean my drive manually. On behalf of Tina, Sheila, Hennie and Ed, James, Halina and Kelly, Becky et Hannan, Ash and his wife and... Continue reading

    Daddy's little girl

by Truelove, about 4 years ago

My father is my snow angel, he is in his 70 s but still looks out for his little girl.

I have a very busy and tiring routine ,and shoveling is not a chore I usually have time for. My father has many times slipped over in the morning or during the day and cleared my driveway so that it was one less thing for me to do.

    His kindness is always appreciated.

    Caring Craig

by Lulu77, about 4 years ago

My husband, Craig, is the epitome of a snow angel. Coincidentally we moved into our home in Kingston during a January snowstorm in 2011, and met our elderly neighbour's daughter while shovelling our shared driveway. He assured her that he would take care of her mom's driveway and look in on her mom on a regular basis. Here we are 9 years later, and Craig has remained true to his word! As soon as there's snow falling, he is out shovelling (no snow blower for this guy!) our double driveway ensuring he gets our neighbour cleared out in time for... Continue reading
