Roadway repairs, along with pedestrian safety and access improvements and traffic calming features are planned for Truedell Road and the area near Pembridge Crescent this summer.
The pedestrian improvements will improve accessibility and safety along a neighbourhood route to Truedell Public School by filling in sidewalk network gaps and slowing traffic.
Planned improvements:
A new sidewalk along the west side of Truedell Road connecting Killburn Road to the new pedestrian crossing at Pembridge Crescent.
A new sidewalk along the east side of Truedell Road connecting Amberly Place to the new pedestrian crossing at Pembridge Crescent.
Lighting upgrades for the pedestrian crossing.
Traffic calming near the pedestrian crossing along Truedell Road, specifically lane narrowing from Kilburn Street to Truedell Public School.
Repaving Truedell Road from Arundel Street to Trudell Public School.
Repaving Arundel Street and Amberly Place cul-de-sacs.
Upgrading sidewalk para-ramps to current standards at the Trudell Road and Development Drive intersection.
A new sidewalk along the west side of Boxwood Street connecting the existing sidewalk to Development Drive.
Construction Impacts
Access: During construction there will be some lane reductions. Roads may be temporarily closed during repaving or driveway access may temporarily be unavailable for short periods during construction.
Parking: On-street parking may be reduced or not available during portions of construction.
