Complete the survey, below, from April 9 to April 30, to help us develop recommendations that will be considered by the Administrative Policies Committee on June 10.
Background
This effort responds to two recent motions from Council:
prepare a Strengths/Weaknesses/Opportunities/Threats (SWOT) analysis of the current committee recruitment process including input from all committees and boards;
research best practices across Ontario; and
submit a report, including recommendations, to the Administrative Policies Committee giving the committee enough time to report back to Council with recommendations before the end of June 2021
A Dec. 15/16, 2020 motion from Council directed staff to provide recommendations to Council by Q2 2021 on increasing the rates of under-represented people on municipal committees and boards and incorporating the equity goals from the Federation of Canadian Municipalities framework for the 2022 municipal candidate nomination process.

How can the City improve the way it recruits volunteers for boards and committees? Your feedback will be considered in the recommendations that staff will make to the Administrative Policies Committee on how to improve the committee recruitment process and increase the rates of under-represented people on municipal boards and committees. This survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete. You may find it helpful to review the Committee Eligibility and Nominations Process on our website before beginning the survey.
