On June 29, 2022, Kingston City Council directed staff to draft a by-law that would help deter certain types of nuisance behaviours in the community. The draft of the Community Standards By-Law includes:

  • Odours
  • Construction Materials and Construction Dust
  • Idling
  • Feeding of Wildlife
  • Textile Collection Sites & Flyers
  • Safe Use of Public Spaces
  • Damage to City Property

We are collecting feedback and input from community groups, partner organizations, businesses, and residents to ensure the Community Standards By-Law is meeting the needs of our community. Feedback will be considered as staff further refine the by-law.
