Project update: August 2026

After working this spring to install lighting and accessible waiting areas, intersection pedestrian signals are now activated at the following locations:

  • Bath Road and Lafleur Park
  • Concession Street and Kingscourt Avenue
  • Stephen Street and Patrick Street

The location at Hickson Avenue and Montreal Street is scheduled for completion this fall.

Two-stage crossing

The intersection pedestrian signals at Bath Road and Lafleur Park differ from the other locations above by allowing pedestrians to cross in two stages. This approach allows pedestrians to safely cross the four-lane road while keeping traffic moving smoothly.

Here are a few benefits of the new crossing for pedestrians and drivers:

  • Shorter, safer crossing distance with an accessible waiting area

  • More time for pedestrians to cross compared to a single-stage crossing

  • Reduced vehicle wait times in each direction
