Madoma Park Court Improvements
Consultation has concluded you can read the engagement summary.
The Madoma Park sports courts are nearing the end of their service life and are currently scheduled for reconstruction in Fall 2026. The project will include new paving, fencing, and court markings for dedicated pickleball courts.
The reconstructed courts will remain within the existing facility footprint. Upgraded drainage and surfacing will enhance safety, durability, and ease of maintenance, helping to extend the lifespan of the new facility. An accessible route will also be incorporated to improve access for all park users.

Madoma Park Court Improvements – Public Engagement Reporting Back
Why we engaged
The Madoma Park sports courts are nearing the end of their service life and are currently scheduled for reconstruction in Fall 2026. These courts are well used by the local neighbourhood and community. As part of the proposed court renovation, the City provided an opportunity for the community to share their feedback on the type of courts to be included in the park.
How we engaged
Between March 26, and April 17, 2026, community members were invited to fill out a survey on Get Involved Kingston. There were 48 responses to the survey.
What you told us
The survey results are summarized below.
1. What do you like about the existing sports court facility?
The most common themes respondents reported are summarized below.
Location and Accessibility
The location of the park and the courts are appreciated as valuable recreation options in the east end. Respondents referenced an appreciation for available parking, and the beautiful park surroundings.
Court Access
Respondents expressed appreciation for having access to racquet sport facilities within their neighbourhood. Most respondents indicated that pickleball is their preferred activity at this location. Tennis is also played at Madoma Park, though by a smaller proportion of users.
2. How often do you use the facility?
Most respondents reported using the facility a couple of times a week.

3. Which age group best represents you, or your family, as a sports court user? Please check all that apply.
Most respondents reported that the Senior category best represented them or their household.

4. Which type of dedicated sports court would you prefer to see at Madoma Park?
The majority of respondents indicated they would prefer to see dedicated pickleball courts.

Next steps
Based on the response and feedback from the community, the courts will be renovated as dedicated pickleball courts with new paving, fencing and court markings. Construction will occur in the fall of 2026. The finalized layout for the four pickleball courts is shown below.
