Have your say on proposed changes to Planning Committee meetings!

On May 3, 2022, Council directed staff to report on the possibilities to optimize the functionality of Planning Committee meetings.

After consultation with similar municipalities and after reviewing other planning committee structures, staff have proposed several options.

Complete the survey to share your feedback on the Planning Committee process. Information gathered from this survey will be used to inform the staff report, which will be presented to Council in Sept. 2022.

    On May 3, 2022, City Council directed staff to report on the possibilities of reworking the schedule, meeting time, procedures, and duration of the Planning Committee, drawing on best practices from the organizational literature, bylaws of comparable Ontario municipalities and public engagement on the issues to optimize the functionality of the meetings.

    Based on consultation with other, similar municipalities and best-practice research of other planning committee structures, staff have identified several potential changes to the procedures of the Planning Committee, to present to Council. 

    Staff are seeking feedback from Kingston residents on the proposed changes. In this survey, you will be asked to indicate your agreement with the proposals on a scale between "strongly agree” and “strongly disagree.”
