The Kingston Community Garden Network was established by the City of Kingston in collaboration with partner groups to support the creation of new community gardens on public or private lands, and to assist with the retention of existing community gardens in the city. The current network of community gardens includes space for allotment plots (your own personal garden plot), tasting gardens, donation gardens, and training gardens. In accordance with the City’s Community Gardens Policy, public engagement with residents and stakeholders is required prior to a permit being issued.
The Oak Street Community Garden is located on the corner ofOak St. and Brant Ave., just west of Victoria St., and north of 3rd Ave., in Kingston. This project will add an additional 200 metres of space along the southeast side of the current garden.
The Oak Street Food Forest has been growing for three years; fruits, nuts, and berries from the forest can be picked by anyone. The proposed expansion aims to increase the diversity of fruit grown and the eventual yield available to share with the community.

Loving Spoonful is applying for a new community garden to be established at Kingston Frontenac Public Library – Calvin Park Branch. The new community harvest garden would:
Be comprised of 16 raised vegetable and herbs beds
Provide donations to Loving Spoonful’s food security initiatives
Incorporate learning opportunities for students and families
Include accessible features
The new gardens will be managed by Loving Spoonful staff.
The Friendship Park Community Garden Association is applying for an expansion of an existing community garden to be established at Friendship Park. The expanded garden would:
Be comprised of two additional raised beds located within the approved garden ‘footprint’.
