Improvements to the pathway near the boat slip at An Gorta Mor Park (11 Ontario St.) are scheduled to take place in the fall of 2025.
Work will include adjustments to the pathway elevation to improve flood resiliency along the waterfront trail network. The existing aluminum bridge will be replaced with a wider, more accessible bridge, which can accommodate sidewalk plows. The existing bridge has been offered as a donation to the Cataraqui Region Conservation Authority (CRCA). Access to water will also be improved to support small non-motorized watercraft launching, and a new, more accessible bench will be installed.
This project is funded in part by the Disaster Mitigation and Adaptation Fund, a federal grant which invests in infrastructure projects to increase resilience for communities that are impacted by climate change.
Construction impacts
