Consultation has concluded for this project.
Now that Kingston is full of Remarkable Recyclers – 540 of them – whose hard work has helped achieve the City’s aim of diverting 60 per cent of household waste, it’s time to raise the bar. The City’s diversion goal is now 65 per cent and a new “Golden Diverter” will be aimed at encouraging residents to reach for an even higher standard. While the popular and successful Remarkable Recycler program allows participants up to three errors, Golden Diverters will have to be 100 per cent perfect. Those who achieve this highest possible standard will enjoy the prestige and satisfaction of being truly golden! Participants must live in a residential home in the City of Kingston with curbside recycling and garbage pick-up to be eligible.
Sign ups are now full. 50 residents were accepted on a first-come first- served basis.
Put your collectables out as usual during the month of June for a curbside audit
Wait to hear your results and if you’ve won a reward. If your waste is correctly sorted, you will receive golden recognition and have your name entered in a random draw for an Apple iPad.
