The City is building a new hard-surface multi-use pathway between Queen Mary Road and Parkway as it continues to grow the city-wide network of active transportation infrastructure.
Construction is being planned for 2019-20 to take advantage of an opportunity to work jointly with staff from Utilities Kingston as they twin the existing sewer beneath this corridor. This location was identified in the Active Transportation Master Plan as a priority opportunity to complete gaps in the City’s active transportation network.
In June 2018 City Council approved the Kingston's Active Transportation Master Plan to develop a comprehensive active transportation network supported by policies, program and facilities designed to increase active – human-powered – travel options and improve accessibility in Kingston.
