Short-term Rental Licensing
Consultation has concluded.
The City is initiating a conversation on short-term accommodations (i.e. vacation or tourist rentals) in Kingston. Short-term accommodations are private, residential dwellings (or part of dwellings) that are rented to provide sleeping accommodations to a person or persons on a temporary basis (generally less than 28 days, with daily or weekly rates).
Staff is seeking input on potential licensing requirements. This discussion will facilitate a dialogue between the city and the public as staff work to create a short-term rental licensing program that meets the needs of Kingston's residents.
