Resources

In response to COVID-19, the City is supporting the most vulnerable residents, front-line and essential services and the community agencies that help those in need. If you have access to goods, services or information resources that you can share, this is the place to do it! Links, videos and tips with COVID-19 resources can be shared here.

by modernlocavore, almost 4 years ago

Modern Locavore, a Canadian registered not for profit, was founded in 2020 by two locavores looking to making it easier for their fellow community members to connect with locally produced food.

They have since created an online local food hub where it is possible to search an online local food directory, find local food related events, contribute to a local food forum, read about inspiring community projects, and learn about participating in a locavore lifestyle.

Love local food? Get involved by checking our Modern Locavore's website (https://www.modernlocavore.ca/), or give them a like on... Continue reading

We offer the following two services:
    1. To provide weekly check-ins via phone (~15-20 mins) for social comfort
    2. To provide assistance like delivering groceries, medications, other essential supplies or running minor errands (*** Volunteers and participants will be instructed to follow strict COVID-19 precautions ***).

    Witnessed a heartfelt donation

by ampl-anni, about 4 years ago

I was picking up my prescriptions (carefully!) at the drug store the other day when a gentleman came in and donated a large grocery bag full of masks. I assumed, from his presentation, that he may have been some kind of trades-person. He was very humble, asked if they were needed by the pharmacy staff and they gratefully accepted the donation as they too are in the queue for the shortage. A kind deed by just an ordinary person...that's what it's going to take.
