Utilities Kingston and the City of Kingston have identified essential infrastructure projects to support the projected population growth to 220,900 residents by 2051. This growth would mean adding 29,300 new homes, exceeding our current financial and human resource capacities to fund and build the necessary infrastructure to service existing and new development. To address these future challenges, we’re looking at establishing a Municipal Services Corporation (MSCs) for water and wastewater services. An MSC would enhance our operational and financial capabilities.
Under Ontario Regulation 599/06 under the Municipal Act, 2001, the City must consult with the public before establishing an MSC. Feedback received during public consultation will be considered in the development of the MSC, ensuring the formation of aligns with the expectations of the community. Your feedback will also be used to shape future engagement and communications about the MSC.
This survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete, and we strongly recommend you read the business case before starting the survey. The survey closes Jan. 9.
